Ultimate Magic Research Society is a study group, school club at the Advanced Magic Academy that consists of the Shin Wolford and his friends. It is currently considered the top and most desired study group within the academy, as the group has received exclusive and comprehensive training from Shin, Merlin and Melinda. It later became a special unit that reported directly to the king of Earlshide and further became an organization for the Alliance.
Background[]
The Ultimate Magic Research Society was created on the first full day of classes, when the first-year, S-class were receiving a tour of the campus. The class was having a discussion about which school study groups they were going to join. Gus makes a comment that Shin would probably not find the other study groups challenging and suggested that he start his own study group. Tony also comments that a study group tutored by Shin would probably allow him to remain in S-Class throughout his tenure at the academy.
The club was officially created by the other nine original members of S-Class, and they placed the new club under Shin’s guidance. A total of 12 members, including all the original 10 members of S-Class and former A-Class students, Mark and Olivia. Due to the high level of interest from students wanting to join the club, the club's faculty adviser, Alfred Marcus, set a minimum requirement for admittance. A student must be able to utilize the other-dimension storage place, which is an advanced type of magic, in order to be admitted into the club. The study group was named by Lynn, with the purpose mastering all round magic and the understanding of how magic is conceptualized by Shin.
Chronology[]
While the Ultimate Magic Research Society was, at first, a research society whimsically made to understand and learn Shin's magic, but after each members' understanding and magic control grew exponentially, as well as their battle against the demonoids in Swedes Kingdom, they became extremely popular. When the Three Power Talks happened, the representatives of Els Federation of Free Commerce and Ys Holy Nation were frantic at the standing of the group however August cleared up their minds by announcing that the talks, the Ultimate Magicians will not be a war potential only to the Earlshide Kingdom. After the disturbance is settled, it will be founded as an international organization under the supervision of people dispatched from each country, it will act for the sake of world peace. August estimated the creation of the organization will occur in two and half years, when all of the members of the research society graduates from Advanced Magic Academy.[1]
Prowess[]
All members were skilled in magic before enrolling in the academy. Their abilities were elevated further after receiving tutelage under Shin and his grandparents. Each of them is now able to take down disaster level demons and demonoids on their own. Their magical abilities now exceed those within the kingdom's elite magic division. Not only are they virtually ensured to remain in S-Class throughout their entire stint at the academy, they have secured positions within a special unit of the kingdom, under Gus's direct control, once they graduate. All members have advanced magic casting capabilities due to their magic control training which has vastly increased the power behind their spells and eliminated the need for chants. Each member can summon intense magical blasts often leaving craters in the ground, generate thick magical barriers capable of defending against massive energy attacks from devils, use search magic to locate enemies within their vicinity and use floating magic to fly.
Uniform[]
Men and women’s clothing, mantle, and shoes were made from Bean's Workshop. The boys wearing long jackets and trousers, with a pair of boots. As for the girls, they wear identically designed jackets with short culottes under it and knee-length boots. Because if they were wearing skirts, they might feel uneasy and it will be bad if their movements become dull. The uniforms are enchanted by Shin Wolford, so naturally they are enhanced with defensive magic. However, they require the magician wearing them to actively channel magic into them to work and so cannot protect against sneak attacks. They also cannot provide protection for any areas not covered by the uniform, similar to openings in armor.
- Absolute Magic Defense - Any magic with malicious intent will be dispersed.
- Anti-Fouling
- Anti-shock
- Auto Heal - Can heal any injury to some extent, such as cure minor wounds or replace any damaged cells. However, it doesn’t work on illnesses.
- Complete Physical Impact Absorption - Kinetic energy is dispersed once it touches the uniform. When attacked, the uniform nullifies the kinetic phenomenon behind the physical impacts such as physical objects.
- Nullification Magic - Can nullify all kinds of magic previously enchanted to an item.
- Penetration Prevention
- Optical Camouflage - A concealment spell that actives when the entire body is covered by the uniforms mantle to prevent the horrific image of a floating head.
- Thermal Comfort - Can adjust the temperature in their immediate surroundings.
